[an error occurred while processing this directive][an error occurred while processing this directive] Central Zone of the Town of Angra do Heroismo in the Azores is a World Heritage Site within the city of Angra on the island of Terceira, in the Portuguese autonomous region of the Azores.

The inscription recognises the historic center of Angra do Heroísmo as the oldest city in the Azores archipelago. Its history goes back to 1450, and for century it was the port of call for sailing ships, until the introduction of steamships in the 19th century. As such, the central zone of Angra do Heroísmo has many historical structures including the San Sebastião fortification and San João Baptista fortification.
