The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Congonhas (also called Santuário do Bom Jesus de Matosinhos) is a religious complex in the state of Minais Gerais, Brazil. It was built on the second half of the 18th century, and comprises a church and seven chapels. The church has a magnificent Rococo interior and an outdoor stairway lined with statues of the prophets. The polychrome sculptures at the seven chapels, which are on the Stations of the Cross, were the work of Brazil's master sculptor Aleijadinho, and were masterpieces of Baroque art.
