[an error occurred while processing this directive][an error occurred while processing this directive] The Mountain Resort in Chengde, Hebei Province, China, was the Summer Palace of the Qing Dynasty. Built between 1703 and 1792, the Mountain Resort and its outlying temples in Chengde is a vast complex of temples, palaces, administrative offices and ceremonial buildings. These manmade structures were built to blend harmoniously into the landscape of lakes, pastures and forests. They also represent a variety of architectural styles and reflect the aesthetic aspiration of imperial China of that period.
