Historic Centre of Florence is a World Heritage Site in Italy. It is located in the quartiere 1 of the city, and dates back to an Etruscan settlement that became one of the most important cities in Europe in the 14th to the 16th centuries.

Among the most outstanding heritage sites in the city of Florence include the 13th century cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Church of Santa Croce, the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace. They are masterpieces of famous architects such as Giotto, Brunelleschi, Botticelli and Michelangelo.

Historic Centre of Florence was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 6th session of the World Heritage Committee in Headquarters in Paris, France, on 13 - 17 December, 1982.
