The Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto is a World Heritage Site in Japan. It comprises 13 Buddhist temples, 3 Shinto shrines and one castle located in the cities of Kyoto, Uji City and Otsu City.

Within the properties inscribed include 38 structures which are designated as National Treasures of Japan, 160 properties designated as Important Cultural Properties, eight gardens designated as Special Places of Scenic Beauty, and four designated as Places of Scenic Beauty.

Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 18th session of the World Heritage Committee in Phuket, Thailand, on 12 - 17 December, 1994.

The properties that make up the list of Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto are as follows:
  1. Kamowakeikazuchi Shrine
    Also called the Kamigamo Shrine, a Shinto shrine in Kita-ku, Kyoto. Location: 35°03'37"N 135°45'10"E

  2. Kamomioya Shrine
    Also called the Shimogamo Shrine, a Shinto shrine in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto. Location: 35°02'20"N 135°46'21"E

  3. Kyoogokoku-ji Temple
    Also called Toji Temple, a Shingon Buddhist temple in Minami-ku, Kyoto. Location: 34°58'51.48"N 135°44'48.02"E

  4. Kiyomizu-dera
    Independent Buddhist temple in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto. Location: 34°59'41.39"N 135°47'6.01"E

  5. Enryaku-ji Temple
