Valparaíso is a seaport city in Chile. It is regarded as an outstanding showcase of 19th century urban and architectural development in Latin America.

Valparaíso was built within an amphitheatre-like basin surrounded by hills that are now dotted with church spires. Valparaíso has nicely preserved the infrastructure that dates back to its early industrial period.
