[an error occurred while processing this directive] Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou is the preserved fortified city on the caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh in Morocco. The city, also written as Aït Benhaddou, is a ksar or fortified city. It comprises earthen buildings that huddle tightly to one another, their ochre-color walls punctuated by plain windows.

The houses in Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou are protected by defensive walls and corner towers. They reflect the architectural style of southern Morocco. Despite their appearance, the Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou were erected only within the last few centuries. The oldest structure here is not older than the 17th century, even though the building technique may have existed much longer.
