[an error occurred while processing this directive] The Ecosystem and Relict Cultural Landscape of Lopé-Okanda is an excellent demonstration of how a dense tropical rainforest interfaces with the relict savannah environments in Gabon. Lopé-Okanda is a national park that comprises rainforest as well as the remnants of savanna created in Central Africa during the last Ice Age, some 15,000 years ago.

The Ecosystem and Relict Cultural Landscape of Lopé-Okanda was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 31st session of the World Heritage Committee which met in Christchurch, New Zealand, from the 23rd of June to 2nd July, 2007.
