List of World Heritage in Danger

Los Katíos National Park was placed on the list of World Heritage in Danger in 2009. This is due to the extreme concern of the World Heritage Committee over the existing and potential threats to the Outstanding Universal Value of the national park as described in the state of conservation report submitted by the government of Colombia.

The government of Colombia had requested the inscription of Los Katíos National Park in the List of World Heritage in Danger so as to call local as well as international attention to it, and get help to address the threats.

Los Katíos National Park is one of the three sites placed on the List of World Heritage in Danger in 2009. The other two are the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System and the Historical Monuments of Mtskheta.
