Mexico ratified the World Heritage Convention on 23 February, 1984. As of August 2010, it has 29 World Heritage Sites, more than any other country in the Americas. Of these 25 are in the cultural category while 4 are in the natural category. Mexico also has another 33 sites on the World Heritage Tentative List.
