 Rhaetian Railway, Italy/Switzerland
The Rhaetian Railway in the Albula and Bernina Landscapes in Italy and Switzerland is a World Heritage Site. Opened in 1904, it crosses the Swiss Alps throlugh two passes.

The Rhaetian Railway includes 42 tunnels and 144 viaducts and bridges. The Rhaetian Railway is an outstanding example of how the railway is used to break the isolation of some settlements in the Central Alps during the early part of the 20th century.
Rhaetian Railway was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee in Quebec City, Canada, on 2 - 10 July, 2008.
