Spain's World Heritage Sites
Spain ratified the World Heritage Convention on 4 May, 1982. As of August 2010, it has 41 World Heritage Sites, the second highest number of inscribed properties after Italy. Of these, 36 are in the cultural category, 3 in the natural category, and 2 in the mixed category. Spain also has another 25 sites on the World Heritage Tentative List.
