Historic Centre of Tallinn , Estonia, is a section of the city that dates back to its founding in the 13th century. Tallinn became an important trading centre of the Hanseatic League, and the resulting prosperity can be seen in its architecture. Its churches, merchant houses and public buildings are remarkably well preserved.

Historic Centre of Tallinn was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 21st session of the World Heritage Committee which met in Naples, Italy on 1-6 December, 1997.

Visiting Historic Centre of Tallinn

By Ferry / Catamaran
Tallin is just a short journey across the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki. The journey takes between one and a half hours to three hours, depending on the type of ferry that you choose. The fare is from €16 upwards.

By Plane
The Tallinn Lennart Meri Airport (TLL) is just about 5 km from downtown, and is hub for Estonian Air. Taxi to downtown will cost you between 100 ro 150 EEK.
