[an error occurred while processing this directive] Teide National Park is a World Heritage Site in the Canary Islands, Spain. The national park encompasses Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain.

Mount Teide is 3,718 meters tall, but as it rises from the ocean floor, its full height is 7,500 meters. This makes it the third-tallest volcanic structure in the world.

Teide National Park was gazetted on 22 January, 1954. It is one of the oldest national parks in Spain. The park covers 18,990 hectares, and features spectacular landscape sceneries.

World Heritage Site Inscription Details

Teide National Park was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 31st session of the World Heritage Committee in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 9 - 16 July, 2006.
