Villa Tugendhat is a villa in Brno, Czech Republic. It was designed by German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and constructed betwen 1928-30. Villa Tugendhat is recognised as an icon of modern architecture and a paradigmatic example of functionalism.

Mies made use of innovative concepts to dispense with supporting walls, achieving a feeling of space and light for the villa. In addition to the building, Mies also designed all the furniture that goes with it. Two types of armchair that he designed for Villa Tugendhat is still in production today. Rather than hanging paintings on the wall, Mies used naturally patterned materials for the walls.

Villa Tugendhat was an expensive building due to the unusual construction method, the use of luxurious materials, and the very modern technology used in heating and ventilation. The house was built for Fritz Tugendhat and his wife Greta. Being Jewish, they fled Czechoslovakia with their children in 1938, never to return. The house was used for various purposes, including the historic meeting of the political leaders of Czechoslovakia in 1992 which peacefully separated it into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Today it is a museum administered by the city of Brno.

Villa Tugendhat was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 25th session of the World Heritage Committee in Helsinki, Findland, on 11-16 December, 2001.
