Yellowstone National Park is a famous World Heritage Site in the United States. It is located primarily in Wyoming, but with some areas extending into Montana and Idaho. Established on 1 March, 1872, it was the first national park in the world. It covers an area of 3,468 sq miles (8,980 sq km).

Yellowstone National Park is renowned for its geothermal features, particularly the Old Faithful Geyser, as well as for its fantastic landscape and wildlife. Within Yellowstone are different types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is the main one.

Within the area of the national park are lakes, rivers, waterfalls and mountain ranges. Among the features include Yellowstone Lake, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America, and Yellowstone Caldera, the largest supervolcano on the continent.

The wildlife of Yellowstone National Park includes hundreds of species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles. Many of the animals of the national park are endangered or threatened species. Among them are Grizzly Bears, bisons, elks and wolves.
